At The Sylvester we like to enhance our children’s learning through visits and inviting visiting specialists into school.

  • A visit to Chester as part of our work on the Romans by Y3
  • A visit to the Pantomime by Y1 – Y6
  • A visit to the Theatre by Ks1 and Y3
  • A visit from the Community Police for KS1
  • Visits to see The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra by Ks1 and Upper Ks2
  • An Indian Dance Teacher to work with Year 4
  • Altru Drama Company Anti Bullying Performance and workshop
  • A visit to Pizza Express and Tate Liverpool by Y2
  • A visit to Knowsley Safari Park by Y1
  • A visit to Acorn Farm by Reception
  • Y5 and Y6 residential to Colomendy
  • Y6 outward bound day at White Mans Dam
  • Whole school cooking with Junior Chef’s
  • A visit to Quarry Bank Mill linked to Y5’s study of Victorian Life
  • Years 1, 2, 3 & 4 learning Sign Language
  • Key Stage 2 learning Samba Drumming
  • Visit from Knowsley City Learning Centre (CLC) working with various year groups developing ICT skills linked to their curriculum work
  • Y1 – Y6 trip to see The Lion King at the Liverpool Empire
  • Y6 visit to see Sainsburys School Games in Manchester
  • Y2 visit to the Lego Discovery Centre & Sealife Centre in Manchester
  • Y6 visit to Halewood Academy to watch Eyes Open and take part in workshops
  • Y6 Visit to Halewood Academy Pantomime

  • Visit from Knowsley Performing Arts Orchestra for whole school performance ‘Music Alive.’
